If you want to spruce up your bedroom but you don't have the money to splurge on new furniture, there are a couple of ways that you can revamp this living space without breaking the bank. Sometimes, all it takes is new cellular shades, wall paint and accent decor to make a bedroom feel like new. If you're strapped for cash, take the following tips into account to turn your master suite into the bedroom you always knew it could be.

Invest in discount window treatments
Whether you want wood blinds or curtains in your bedroom, put discount window treatments at the top of your shopping list. By dressing your windows accordingly, you can instantly create a new look and feel throughout the space. This is a quick interior design fix that provides noticeable results.

Get it done with pillows
Do you think your bedroom could use more creativity and color? How about visual interest? If these are some of the characteristics that you're lacking in your space, Good Housekeeping magazine encourages you to bring in more pillows. These pieces aren't just for sleeping anymore - throw pillows can be a great way to spruce up any area of the home. Choose ones that include colors you want to incorporate into the space or patterns that catch the eye. Various textures can also create a fun appearance that boosts the appeal of your bedroom.

Paint your furniture
If you can't afford new bedroom furniture, work with what you've got by giving it a fresh coat of paint. Better Homes and Gardens magazine claims that this tactic is an affordable way to add pizzazz to your space. Whether it's your dresser or headboard that's in dire need of a makeover, paint can easily do the trick.

Get moving
TLC states that moving around your existing furnishings may be all that needs to be done to create a new interior you'll love. Concentrating on the arrangement of your furniture can also give you more perspective when it comes to the space. You may unlock new potential in the vanity, bed frame and seating you already have in the room.

Not everyone has money to splurge on remodeling a room in their home, but that doesn't mean that decorating is completely out of the question. These tips can help you get the job done and learn to enjoy your bedroom again.
