 Exterior shutters are an excellent addition to your home when trying to add character or color to a seemingly “plain” home. They are placed around your outside windows and are used mainly to add color to the home. When buying your outdoor shutters make sure you measure your windows. Know the width and the height of the windows you plan on placing the shutters. Decide which material you will be using for your shutters. Choose your shutter style from a selection of paneled, joined board, spaced board, or other styles. Pick a color for the shutters that will complement the color of the exterior and trim work of the house. Lastly, order the hardware needed for installation.
