 In earlier times, wood blinds were referred to as Venetian blinds. Wood blinds are similar to other styles of blinds in that all of the wooden slats are connected by a series of cords that will allow the slats of the blinds to be adjusted, which will allow more or less light to enter a single room. The blinds can also be raised and lowered as another means of adjusting the level of light and the level of privacy. Wooden blinds are available in a variety of different finishes with one of the most popular being oak. Some homeowners do not enjoy the look of natural wooden blinds and will prefer to purchase blinds that are painted to match the existing décor.
