When you are decorating your home or office, your window treatments are a very important part of the décor. You can choose to use curtains or blinds, or a combination of both. While curtains are definitely pretty, blinds can tend to be much more economical. They are easier to clean, as you just have to dust them off and wipe them down, rather than taking them off a rod and washing or dry-cleaning them.
If you are worried that blinds won’t afford you the variety and style that curtains have, then fortunately you are mistaken.
Window blinds have come a long way from what they once were like. Instead of finding yourself limited to one particular style of blinds, or one particular color of blinds, you can now find blinds in a wide variety of materials and an even wider variety of colors. You can truly find blinds that will match any décor and/or theme you can possibly think of.
Slat blinds are very common. These are the blinds that that are comprised of long strips (slats) of material, either fabric, wood, aluminum, etc. Slat blinds are so common because they are easy to use.
You can raise and lower slat blinds, exposing an entire window. You can also leave your slat blinds lowered, but you still set the width of the slats to let a little light in, or to give you a partial view out of the window.
Solid blinds can be quite convenient as well, although they are often called shades. Solid blinds don’t give the versatility of partial views or anything like slat blinds do, but they are very good at their job of keeping light out and offering visual security.
