                   STANDARD VERTICAL BLINDS

Our Standard Vertical Blinds are a great option you should consider if you are contemplate sprucing up your home for the spring on a budget. It is worth pausing for a moment to consider what a huge impact the window coverings could have on almost any room in the house; from the bedroom to a showpiece dining area.

We at Payless Decor are convinced our Standard Vertical Blinds have just what it takes to combine both style and practicality (not to forget economical) that make them so special in our eyes.

For a start, vertical blinds are extremely versatile so you will never be stuck for possibilities. Don't think of vertical blinds as merely a solution for your patio door. Their neat streamlined appearance is especially well-suited for narrower windows or doorways because of their height-conscious design. Vertical window blinds can be used as a sophisticated substitute for draperies in any room of the home or office. One of the major benefits of blinds such as these is that they can be set to face in a certain direction, from fully open to entirely closed.  You may find this is especially useful in extreme outdoor conditions; such as bright sunlight or darkness. Moving your blinds to filter out just the right amount of light will lead to a perfect home setting.

Our Standard Vertical Blinds come in five basic colors that will surely complement your current decor and are custom made to your specifications. Tracks can be configured for a one-way draw, split draw, center stack, or opposite stack to suit personal preference; the direct drive control unit with large sprocket wheel provides a smooth and responsive operation. You can also purchase a single or double valance to complete the look for your window. So with our Standard Vertical Blinds, you have an almost unlimited flexibility in designing your room.

Sincerely,

Cherri

2" Distressed Wood Blinds
By Cherri

2” Distressed Wood Blinds

Distressed” finishes are the modern decorator’s exciting feature for rustic, country and cottage-style decorating schemes where a mix of vintage and even some modern furnishings are coordinated.  Ideal applications include study/library, den, formal living rooms, formal dining rooms, and any room looking for the rich stain combined with the warmth and beauty of real wood.  For example, Whitewash makes for a great shabby chic look at the beach house, while Rosewood or Warm Cherry gives your home office an aura of rich distinction.

Our 2" Distressed Wood Blinds have existing nicks and scratches as well as color variations that are the “look” of this unique window treatment.  Each basswood slat has been distressed to offer an antiqued appearance to the wood blinds. These rustic basswood blinds are custom-crafted, durable and warp resistant.

For an authentic look, the distressed finish is continued on a matching wood valance and bottom rail. Every blind comes with a cord or wand tilt control.

Wood tones offered in the distressed style include Ebony, Whitewash, Warm Cherry, Rosewood, Dark Oak and Chestnut.  Decorative tapes are also available in black, ebony, bone, mocha, silk and mulberry.

Because of the varied finish, we recommend that you order a free sample for the best color match. A discount coupon that provides a 40 percent reduction off the regular price accompanies each sample.

Bathroom Window Treatments

BATHROOM WINDOW TREATMENTS

Choosing an appropriate bathroom window treatment is not a simple task. It requires creativity and attention to the entire setting to enhance the beauty of the room. Finding suitable bathroom window treatment(s) is part of the decorating process, contributing to the overall appearance of the room.

Draperies and Curtains

The drapery is considered a more sophisticated bathroom window treatment, suitable for bathrooms of more generous dimensions, with special furniture and accessories. Draperies require more wall space around the window.  Drapery panels are not retractable in the same way as other window treatments are and that is why they require more space. The majestic and fabulous look is more appealing for very large bathrooms.

Curtains have some advantages compared to other types of bathroom window treatments. If you are seeking inexpensive versatility, curtains are lightweight and can be easily suspended/removed from a rod with rings, tabs or rod-pocket casing.

Shades are a great solution for a bathroom window treatment being that they can be easily raised or lowered. There are various types of shades that can be used for the bathroom, from our custom pleated shades, fabric roman shades, to our simple roll-up shades.

Shutters are another nice option for your bathroom window treatment, as they offer more possibilities than simple curtains.  They can cover a window from top to bottom or only the bottom part of the window. .

Blinds are still considered the most popular category of bathroom window treatment, due to their versatility and affordability. Blinds are excellent for spaces where light control or privacy is highly important. This makes them perfect for bathroom windows. You have many possibilities to choose from with several options, vertical blinds with up and down slats (pvc or fabric), and blinds with horizontal slats. Blinds are usually made of vinyl, wood, faux wood, aluminum.

Tips for a Better Choice

The dimensions of the bathroom are very important as this aspect will determine a better choice. Larger spaces look great with draperies and curtains while small bathrooms require other solutions. If you want to give even more of an effect with your window treatment(s), shorter curtains could give your bathroom a bold statement.

The dimensions of the bathroom windows also play an important role in the choice of suitable bathroom window treatments. The general tendency of smaller windows in the bathroom makes blinds, shutters, or shades more suitable than draperies and curtains.

Roller Shades-Gaining Popularity in Spring 2009
By cherri
5/4/2009 8:17:00 AM

Roller Shades are one of the most recognizable types of window treatment around.  Even if you didn’t grow up with them in your own home, you were sure to see roller shades at Grand Mom’s house or your favorite Uncle and Aunt’s place.  And if you are a coffee lover, the Starbucks down the street is sure to have them.

There are Roller shades made with vinyl, fabric or laminate and their thickness varies depending on the purpose they are used for.  Insulating roller shades are thicker while those used strictly for privacy can be thinner.  Roller Shades come in a wide variety of styles, colors and textures and coordinates easily in any room.

Roller shades have become quite popular once again (Grand Mom would be pleased) as they offer an economical, simple yet aesthetically pleasing means to cover windows and doors.

Among the added benefit is that Roller Shades offer also economical window privacy. Roller shades can be ordered with an extra layer of blackout fabric, which will block out all light from a room, or simply use light filtering shades to keep excess light out.

Last, but not least, roller shades are easy to install.  In most cases, homeowners themselves install the roller shades, eliminating the added cost of professional installation.  Thus, it can be both elegant and affordable to get a discount roller shade and accentuate it with a nice drapery panel.

We recently added an economy roller shade line to our premium line of roller shades, and I would be happy to discuss what roller shade best fits your needs!
