Here are a couple of products I recommend that add a touch of style to your home décor while offering safety features that help keep your little ones safe.

      Our cellular shades give a pleasing look to your home décor while offering the cordless option which will keep young children safe from hazardous situations. They come in a variety of styles and options from single and double cell construction to “Duofold” which gives you the “top down/bottom up” capability. Another bonus is that are cellular shades are designed from a durable 100% non-woven polyester fabric which insulates windows against cold air drafts. This saves you money through improved energy efficiency in the home.

      Our roller shades are another product to consider being that “cordless” comes standard. They are so easy to use that a child can operate them. Simply give the shade a slight tug to open and pull them down to close. The spring mechanism will stop the shade at the length you specify. Our roller shades are also customizable with a number of options from decorative hem styles to the cassette system. The cassette system is a great option which covers the rolled up shade with a decorative valance.

BATHROOM WINDOW TREATMENTS

 

Choosing an appropriate bathroom window treatment is not a simple task. It requires creativity and attention to the entire setting to enhance the beauty of the room. Finding suitable bathroom window treatment(s) is part of the decorating process, contributing to the overall appearance of the room.

 

Draperies and Curtains

 

The drapery is considered a more sophisticated bathroom window treatment, suitable for bathrooms of more generous dimensions, with special furniture and accessories. Draperies require more wall space around the window.  Drapery panels are not retractable in the same way as other window treatments are and that is why they require more space. The majestic and fabulous look is more appealing for very large bathrooms.

 

Curtains have some advantages compared to other types of bathroom window treatments. If you are seeking inexpensive versatility, curtains are lightweight and can be easily suspended/removed from a rod with rings, tabs or rod-pocket casing.

Roman Shade 2009 Voluntary Recall

Shade and Blind safety has been an important topic for the last 10 years. Within the Window Treatment industry, we strive to constantly make our product safer and offer more utility to our customers. On December 15, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) are announcing today a voluntary recall to repair all Roman shades. To view this release click here.

What this recall means, is that anyone who purchased a Roman Shade from Payless Decor is eligible for a retro-kit to make his/her Roman Shades cordless and child-safe. Click here to access and order this kit.

If you have a young child and are considering a window treatment optiion, we strongly urge you to consider a cordless option.

However, if you do want a corded option, Payless Decor's products adhere to the latest safety regulations: All blinds have multiple cords standard (as opposed to loops) and cord cleats to tie the cords away from children.
