Our Basics Collection Solar Shades are an economical solution to rooms that get a lot of sunlight. This shade is economical, minimizes the light without eliminating it completely, and provides insulation benefits. These shades are perfect for an indoor sun room or a room overlooking a deck or a pool.

The colors ending in "weave" offer a 10% openness, and the colors ending in "screen" offer a slightly greater 14% openness. Also, note that the Solar Weave style is about 35% more than the Solar Screen style.

Light gap per side of the shade - on a roller shade the roller/heading is always larger in width than the fabric. Thus, when you order please make sure that the width of the fabric, and the resulting light-gap will be acceptable:

-minimum depth is 1 3/8” , flush depth is = 2 1/2"

I took a leap of faith here as I have had solar shades before and had an idea of the fabric and knew that cream was pretty easy as well, and did not order samples. My lucky day. These shades are absolutely perfect. I ordered the 10% fabric and am very pleased. They were an absolute breeze to put up and they look very high end. Payless does a great job. This is my 3rd purchase and the time frame was excellent as well from ordering, to delivery.

I have already recommended the products to several friends. Prior to ordering I strongly recommend ordering samples. This eliminates the unknown such as texture, actual colour, density, fabric 'feel' and sun blockage. I've forwarded my samples to others. Ease of installation, once I figured it out because I had an inside mount side attachment. Will be ordering at least 2 more shades. PMMiller

Between Solar and Weave - are they easy to clean, we live in a smoker house and want to know if one cleans better than the other, and what you clean it with?

We recommend cleaning them with a feather duster or a dry cloth.

Trying to decide between the 10% and 14% solar shades. I want them for a sunroom to reduce glare off my computer screen, but I want to see through the shade.

Either would be a good solution for you, but to minimize the glare you may want to choose the 10% shades, which will give you a bit less sunlight. Yes, to some degree. In order to guarantee that a shade is 100% privacy, it is advisable to order a black out shade. Our Reminiscent collection offers this.
