Payless Decor's Cordless Smooth-Lift Solar Shades expertly combine form and function. The majority of roller shades are on a spring-lift system that snaps up and spins around when you try to lift your shade. Our Smooth-lift system was designed to lift your shade smoothly, and allows the user to manage the speed with which the shade is raised. Moreover, our 5% openness shades are perfect for rooms with a view as they cut-down the light and glare that enters the windows, but still allows views outside. Restaurants and Starbucks use these expertly because they realize that when having a leisurely conversation, staring into the sun is not entirely enjoyable. Also, because the sunlight is reduced, you can expect your need for air conditioning to be reduced as well.
Due to the smooth-lift system, these shades do not mount to the sides, only to the top for an inside mount or the back for an outside mount. Also, please note that the length may come longer than you need to provide maximum flexibility; however, since it is in a roll, you never have to display the excess.
*Note that the fabric will be 1 3/8" narrower than the tip of the shade so that the shade installs and operates properly. You may want to compensate for this by adding width to your shade on outside mounts. All inside mounted shades will have a light gap of 3/4" on each side.
