If you have questions about our bamboo shades please contact us directly at 1-800-925-4635 or paylessdecor.com/support.

Get these terrific bamboo shades at special prices. Please note that bamboo shades let light through, so unless you get a custom shade with a liner, they are decorative, but they do not offer privacy. Please note that our shanghai oak style is a greenish/yellowish hue. As will all of our shades please get a sample if you are unsure of whether the shade will fit with your decor.

On our stock items blinds cannot be modified or returned. Each bamboo shade is the exact width as specified, so be sure your window is a bit larger if you are planning an inside mount, or a bit smaller if you are planning an outside mount. Please note that the warranty that covers our custom shades does not cover any stock items.

I ordered a bamboo shade to cover four small windows in my dining room, 75x98. It is absolutley stunning. I chose the Shanghai oak style, and the dark brown stitching makes it a truly beautiful and unique shade.

After searching for window treatments for four large (72x72) windows, I found these bamboo shades in the clearance section of the web site, Payless Decor. They look great and will serve to shade the mid-day sun without hiding the beautiful beach view.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
Question:

I just purchased a blind from your clearance. It is perfect and great. Do you ever offer other sizes in the clearance for this blind. I have 4 other windows that I have to do. Thanks in advance.

Answer:

Hi, glad it worked well for you. We sporadically may put new sizes/styles up depending on if we are discontinuing a size/style or simply have too much in stock.

Question:

do they come motorized

Answer:

We currently do not offer motorized bamboo shades. However some of our sheer shades, cellular shades, and wood blinds offer a motorized option.

Question:

Do these shades roll up like a roller shade or stack like a roman shade?

Answer:

Our bamboo shades fold "roman style" as they go up.

Question:

Can the bamboo shades be used on a screen in patio?

Answer:

Unfortunately our bamboo shades are not designed to be used on a screened patio. Although it is screened in, they would still be subject to the elements (rain, wind, mildew etc.). The only product we offer that can be used on a screened in porch is our Advantage Exterior Solar Shades. I have enclosed a link below... https://www.paylessdecor.com/Blinds-for-Outdoors/Payless-Decor-Advantage-Exterior-Solar-Shades.asp

Question:

How can I see samples of each of the colors that your bamboo shades are available in?

Answer:

The outlet bamboo shades are pre-made products from our Premium Bamboo Shades line. You can order FREE Premium Bamboo samples at the link below. http://www.paylessdecor.com/free-samples.asp

Question:

I need a size 34/60 Blind do you make that size.?

Answer:

Yes! We do not have that size in our outlet, but all of our bamboo shades can be custom-made in that size. I have enclosed a link below... https://www.paylessdecor.com/Bamboo-Shades/Bamboo-Shades.asp

Question:

Can you mount these with a hook and eye? from the ceiling?

Answer:

Our bamboo shades come with 'L' brackets that can be mounted on the ceiling. An eye-hook would not work with these brackets.

Question:

Can these blinds be shortened?

Answer:

If you want a shorter blind than is in our outlet, we recommend that you order a custom shade. While it is possible for you to shorten them, there are no instructions for this, so it would be at your own discretion.

Question:

How are the shades mounted?

Answer:

Most of our bamboo shades are mounted using L-Brackets which are universal. They allow you to either back-mount or top-mount the products.

Question:

Do you offer fabric trim on your bamboo shades or any type of finished edge?

Answer:

On our custom shades, yes. On our stock shades(in this section) - no - they come as-is. Here is a link to the custom shades that have edge banding:

https://www.paylessdecor.com/Bamboo-Shades/Payless-Decor-Premium-Bamboo-Shades.asp

Question:

do they have a pull up cord and can u buy longer

Answer:

Yes! Our bamboo shades operate with a pull cord. Our stock blinds and shades cannot have a longer cord. However, our custom blinds and shades in other sections can generally be produced with a longer cord. Give us a call if would like answers on specifics. M-F 8-5pm EST 800-925-4635

Question:

Do you offer the decorative edge fabric for the bamboo shades?

Answer:

Not in our outlet, but we do offer it within our the majority of our custom bamboo shades found here: http://www.paylessdecor.com/Bamboo-Shades/Bamboo-Shades.asp

Question:

We are trying to install bamboo blinds but we did not put the cords correctly. Can you tell me how the cords should go on the upper part of the shade. Thanks

Answer:

Please refer to our blog which provides detailed information/video illustrations on how to restring bamboo shades. I have enclosed a link below. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. http://www.paylessdecor.com/blogs/How-to-Restring-Bamboo-Shades.aspx

Question:

Do you have privacy liners available for the shades? if so , what is the difference between privacy and blackout?

Answer:

We do have liners available as an optional addition for each collection of bamboo that we offer. The privacy liner is a light filtering material and will still allow light to be filtered into the room, and you will still have shadows and silhouettes. The blackout liner is an opaque material that blocks any light from coming into the room. There will be no shadows or silhouettes if you choose that option. Unlined bamboo shades can be seen through as the woven reeds and woods used will never be uniform, so we highly recommend this option for bedrooms and bathrooms.

Question:

I want to protect a sliding door 70" by 93 1/2" from the heat of the sun, in our kitchen. However, we'd like a style that covers minimal glass when we want to let all the light in. Is a pull up style to much weight for this size? How much of the window would it cover on top? Is there anything that opens to one side to fill our 18in unneeded wall space next to the door? What styles would you recommend I look at? I'm overwhelmed with all the choices. Thank you! Ellen

Answer:

Great questions! You can purchase a bamboo shade, and as you mentioned if you keep it as an inside mount it will cover some of your glass on the top, probably about 12" or so. Another option would be to keep it above your sliding glass door, this would minimize the glass that is covered. As for your question about weight, it certainly is heavier at this size, but it is difficult to articulate how much so. A more expensive option is a sliding panel that can still have a natural look. We actually are transitioning our sliding panel product right now, so it is not on the site. However, if you would like us to send you some samples, we certainly can. Give us a call and we can walk you through different options!

Question:

I would like to mount bamboo shades on my french doors which measure 34 inches each. I need 27 inches to cover the width of the glass panes & 1 inch overlap an each side. I also would like a continuous loop mount, and have to allow for handles on each door. Do I order the 27 inch blind? How much room do I need to allow on each side for the continuous loop?

Answer:

First, for the Outlet Bamboo shades, we do not offer a continous cord loop option. If you need that feature, please take a look at either the Designer Bamboo shades or one of the Platinum Bamboo shade collections (links are below). If you choose to have one of those collections, you can select either left or right side for the controls which will allow you to avoid the loop getting in the way of the door handle. As for coverage, you want to allow enough to cover more than the glass within the doorway, but not so much that it will interfere with the function of the door handle. We do recommend adding at least one inch to get adequete coverage. Check out our Outside Mount measuring instructions for more guidelines here: http://www.paylessdecor.com/measuring-guide.asp. Question:

I need this for outside. Is this durable enough to be left up for the summer? It would be great if it was vinyl. The price is good!! HELP Namaste'

Answer:

Hello, these are not treated for the elements that they would face outdoors. Unfortunately using them outdoors would void the warranty; however, we have heard of customers treating the shades themselves for the outdoors.
