Panels came as described and they walked me through measuring and it was accurate. Bought them because a neighbor had bought them and I like looks. Very happy with them. You can feel heat between panels and window so I feel heat is being blocked.

Questions & Answers

Ask a Question
Question:

Is this see through at night when we have the light on? We also want privacy.

Answer:

There are different types of fabrics used, however, unless they are labeled as 'blackout' some light can come in, so if someone came up to the window they might be able to make some things out within the house. I would recommend you get some of our free samples and take a look as to the degree of privacy you would receive. Also, if you want to receive the highest level of privacy, I'd recommend evaluating blackout-solar panels (which we are in the process of putting on our site, so if you have interest I can send you some samples.

Question:

What sort of hardware is this mounted on? And what color? Is it a rod of some kind? And do you have a picture of it?

Answer:

Unfortunately we do not have a picture of it but the bracket for this product is silver metal with an L-Shape. The brackets are universal in which you can either back-mount or top-mount.

Question:

If I am covering patio doors should I measure each side of the door? I will be getting 2 panels for a sliding door.

Answer:

When you are measuring for patio doors, you always want to order the total width. If ordering as an outside mount, you would also want to add 3"-6" to your width measurement and 2" to your height measurement which is the recommendation. I highly recommend that you read over our Measuring Guide. I have enclosed a link below... http://www.paylessdecor.com/measuring-guide.asp

Question:

Is there any where in Palm Springs where these blinds can be purchased and installed. Thank you.

Answer:

Unfortunately not. We are a web-based company in Norcross GA. All of our products are sold online. However, all of our products include all necessary hardware and instructions.

Question:

Are these connected to the floor?

Answer:

No, they are not connected to the floor. However you can order them to come down to the floor if you choose. The panels are "weighted" at the bottom, but they are not on a track at the bottom, only the top is connected to a track system.

Question:

do the sliding blinds mount floor and top/ ceiling? common vertical blinds are awful and dangle from a top mount. there is limited information on your site and the pics are too small too tell anything

Answer:

Sliding panels have a headrail similar to vertical blinds, however, the size of the panels creates a far different look from normal vertical blinds.

Question:

1. Solar shades for sliding patio doors: What are the max. and min. widths of the sliding panels? TIA, SS

Answer:

The minimum width is 48" and max width is 104".

Question:

Do these panels mount on the ceiling?

Answer:

Yes, you can mount them from the ceiling. They can used as room dividers.

Question:

Do the Advantage Solar Sliding Panels come with a matching valance?

Answer:

No...that product does not have a valance.

Question:

Are the fabric shades easy to open and close?

Answer:

Yes. The Fabric Sliding panels have easy mechanisms for opening and closing your blinds and glide smoothly on the track.

Question:

Do these help with temperature control?

Answer:

The best product for insulation would be our cellular shades. They are perfect for insulating windows against the cold and you save money through energy efficiency.

Question:

What do the 1/4, 3/8, 5/8, 7/8" measurement choices refer to?

Answer:

This is a portion of an inch. So you would provide a measurement such as 32 1/4 - meaning 32 and one quarter inches. You can select your exact size to the nearest 1/8" increment.

Question:

How wide is the sliding track on a 5 panel unit? Do all the panels stack together when moved to one side.

Answer:

The track system is about 3" in depth. If you are inside mounting them, you will need no less than 2 1/2" of space to mount them or if you are outside mounting them, you will need at least 2" of flat space to mount them. On a 5 panel unit each panel will be 19" wide, with one panel being fixed, while the other 4 slide behind it when you are opening them. The panels will all go to the right or all to the left, you get to choose, but they are only available as a one way draw.

Question:

I'm considering a sliding panel for a sliding door. The slider slides from left to right so I will need it stacked to the right. The door handle is all the way to the left and protrudes out about 2 inches. I have about an inch from the door handle to the outside edge of the trim. I do have 3" for the head rail. What is the distance of the left most panel from the front edge of the head rail since they stack from front to back I worry that the last panel will hit my door handle.

Answer:

The distance is 2.50”. Which is also the depth of the headrail.

Question:

Can these be used for outdoor purposes on a deck?

Answer:

No, these are actually only made for indoor use. We don't have outdoor sliding panels, but we do offer outdoor shades made of similar material. They will be on a roller bar rather than a track.
